In-Patient Therapy vs. Home Health

The title of this post is actually misleading. Usually, the patient that is appropriate for in-patient therapy, is typically not appropriate for home health care. In-patient therapy(going into a rehab facility), provides daily therapy from any of the three different disciplines one might need. Speech therapy, occupational therapy and physical therapy are available, and are utilized on a daily basis.

Home health agencies, like BeyondFaith Homecare & Rehab in Aledo, on the other hand, make these three therapies available, but on a much more limited basis. Physical and occupational therapy is usually provided 2 – 3 times per week, depending on the diagnosis. The therapist is in your home anywhere from 45 minutes to an hour. This is vastly different from an “in-patient” experience where the patient receives therapy daily.
